    • Team Force Atlantic

      Published 11/04/25

We were thrilled to have Team Focus Atlantic in to talk to out Year 9 students. The team of 4 ladies spoke about their experience of rowing 3000 miles in 46 days, 55 minutes from LA Gomera in the Canary Islands across the Atlantic to Antigua in Carribbean.

The team spoke about their physical and mental challenges along the way, rowing non stop in two hour shifts, all whilst navigating the harsh conditions of the Atlantic. This is the first all-female Army team to achieve such a feat, with some of the rowers having no previous rowing experience before signing up. Their strength of character, team work and resilience truly show what is possible!

Micka T is pictured with a Team Force Atlantic commemorative coin which he earned for sharing his future goals with the group.

Nicole Spence - past pupil #nendrumcollegealumni

During fifth year at Nendrum College I was given the opportunity to have a week’s work experience at the Ulster hospital. I had always wanted to be a nurse growing up and this gave me the insight I needed to choose what path I would be taking after I left school. After leaving school I went on to SERC to do my HND in health and social care then onto Queen’s University where I graduated as a Nurse. Nendrum College set me up for where I am today. I am now a deputy sister in the Ulster hospital and I get to do what I love everyday.
