NI Youth Forum Assembly

Nendrum welcomed Ian Donald from the Northern Ireland Youth Forum to lead our assembly this morning for Years 10-12.

Ian informed us that the NIYF is passionate about young people and making sure young people's voices are heard on the issues that matter the most to them.

The NIYF is a youth led organisation that lobbies, advocates, promotes and fights for the rights of young people. The Youth Forum believes that young people have an important role to play in moulding society to create a better future for everyone. It exists to support young people to affect positive change for themselves and for their communities; it believes young people should be invested in; can be part of the solution; want to be empowered and must be listened to.

The NIYF believes that one person can make a difference; and that together great things can be achieved.

Pupils were welcomed to learn more about the NIYF and to get involved. There are still some packs available from the school Office if anyone else is interested in taking part in such an important and worthwhile project.
