Despite feeling some tiredness from the College Sports Day yesterday Jack Trotter excelled in the North Down Schools' event with three medals. A second place in the 100m and a first place in the 200m were excellent achievements. His greatest moment came as the anchor man in the 4x100m relay team. After Sadayu Phongdamban, George Tipton, Marks Dzirvinskis ran super legs it was left with Jack to bring the team home. On receiving the baton he was marginally behind but with sheer drive and commitment to the task he would not be denied as he dramatically snatched victory in the final 5 metres of the race.
Other medal winners were Aaron Porter, bronze in the junior long jump and Joel Chambers, gold in the junior 800m. Special mentions go to the year 8 relay team on reaching the final and to Jay Russell and Bradley Mullan on finishing 4th in their respective 800m races.
Congratulations to all other squad members; athough finishing outside the medals their efforts and determination was very evident.
