Every year the months January and February sees the return of the experienced and tough cross country exponents as well as well as the introduction and baptism of the Year 8 novices. At Valentine Playing Fields in Bangor on Monday it was certainly an unforgettable debut as they had to contend with the wind, rain and mud.
At the close of all races the College emerged triumphant with plenty of success. Although all pupils displayed great determination and perseverance special mentions go to the folowing.
Year 8 Boys- Winners of the team prize with Darren Silcock first finisher in 2nd place.
Year 9 Boys- Winners of the team prize with Martyn Quinn winning the race.
Year 10 Boys- Winners of the team prize with Jonathan Finlay winning the race
Year 11/12 Boys- Runners -up in the team event with Corey Brown first finisher in 5th place.
Year 8 Girls- Third in the team race with Abbie Magee first finisher in 4th place.
Year 10 Girls Caprice Miskimmon first finisher in 2nd place
This success augurs well for the those pupils that will represent the College in the Co. Down Championships in a few weeks time. Good luck!
