Girls Hockey Team Dominate against Ballynahinch

U14 Girls Hockey Team ended the season on a high after dominating their last league match against Ballynahich with a 1/0 result.
The girls started the match with a strong and determined attitude to bring back a win. Great team spirit and energy made sure this came true.
It was a lively match with both teams battling for possession, Ballynahinch made some good attempts at reaching the Nendrum defensive quarter but Stacey Gaw made sure there was no threat.
Holly Anderson, was injured in the first minute of the match, Megan Knox, who usually plays a defensive position then came on for the centre forward. The team quickly adjusted their tactics and Megan proved to be a valuable substitution.
It was an attacking game with Nendrum dominating the play. Lauren Robson, Lauren Baxter and Laura Sheifield made several attempts at scoring which resulted in three penalty corners, but no goal.
Nendrum kept pressure on the Ballynahinch keeper with Lauren Baxter and Samantha McAllister making several impressive shots.  Samantha then slipped the ball past the line which was the first and only goal of the match.
The team played very well, and proved that good communication and fast passes are invaluable. Well done to all the girls and Stacy Gaw for being nominated player of the match for her super sweeper skills!!
