Burgeoning golfing talent Aaron Blair, played his final match for the College against Regent House on Wednesday 16th May at Clandeboye Golf Club with a flawless performance of golf. In what was a great exhibition of golf, his talented opponent was defeated 3/2. The golf league is structured for players up to Year 11 so sadly for the College Aaron bows out with a super record of having played 14 matches with 13 wins! This win paved the way for a Nendrum victory by two wins to one. Daniel Parker was defeated but over the last few matches he has developed his understanding and confidence. This should set him up nicely for plenty of golf over the summer. Ben Chambers won 2/1 and this was helped by a marvellous pitch in at the 13th hole. This was a shot that he will not forget, or let others forget about for a long time! Dylan Cleland did not have an opponent but he was able to play the lovely Ava course that is in such great condition.
A special mention goes to Harry Diamond, a sublime amateur golfer in his own right but presently gaining the limelight as the caddie for Rory McIlroy. He was very cordial in speaking with the team afterwards and also distributed some balls. His manner and generosity was very much appreciated by all.
Thanks to all the players and caddies for their conduct and etiquette throughout all the matches.
