Linking Generations

Nendrum College has a strong partnership with Linking Generations NI. This partnership allows pupils to volunteer time after school to visit Stepping Stones Fold in Comber. This experience allows our pupils to integrate with the local community and also allows the community to have a positive experience with the pupils of Nendrum College.

The residents and pupils participate in joint organised activities each week, this enables learning for both generations. It can also bring out the competitive side playing games such as BINGO. Our most recent activity was a history trip to the Ulster Museum and both generations enjoyed socialising with each other. The pupils were kind enough to take the older generation to McDonalds for a McFlurry on the way home.

This programme has been a very positive experience for Pupils, Residents and staff who attend weekly.
